Town Planner | Manchester | MRTPI or Licentiate | Exciting Company

A forward thinking, award winning consultancy located close to the main train station in the cosmopolitan centre of Manchester, requires an experienced Town Planner to join their team.

This successful team is expanding due to a considerable pipeline of work and they require an additional professional planner to assist in the delivery of key projects including major housing delivery, education and healthcare sector developments, retail and town centre projects, commercial development and sporting projects.

You will already be an experienced Town Planner with a background in either a private or public sector setting, working for a consultancy, local authority or developer. You will have gained at least a year's experience at Graduate, Assistant or Planner level and be working towards or already have been awarded membership of the RTPI.

About the role:

The role will offer exposure to a vast array of projects across a range of sectors, and depending on experience will involve managing smaller projects whilst assisting on larger projects as part of a wider project team.

Likely tasks will include carrying out research, undertaking or assisting on site appraisals and land promotion through to written statements and representations, preparing application documents, attending and presenting at committee, organising community consultation events, negotiating with councillors and officers and attending examination and appeal hearings.

As you grow and develop within the business you will become increasingly client facing and will start to play a part in maintaining good client relationships and developing future work streams for the business.

About you:

• Upwards of 1 years' experience in a town planning role (DM, policy, consultancy, strategic land promoter, housing or commercial developer);
• MRTPI or working towards;
• High standards of written communication;
• Confident and persuasive public speaker, able to present at committee and negotiate with key stakeholders;
• Ambitious, self-motivated but also a genuine team player;
• Full UK driving licence (or currently taking lessons).
