Consultant - Associate Planners | Cotswolds | MRTPI | Excellent Package Including Car
An opportunity has arisen for 1-2 qualified and experienced Town Planners to join a renowned private consultancy in the beautiful Cotswolds.
This successful team is expanding due to a considerable pipeline of work and they require additional professional planners to assist in the delivery of key projects including major housing delivery.
You will already be an experienced Town Planner with a background in either a private or public sector setting, working for a consultancy, local authority or developer. You will have at least 2 years' experience at Planner level, but could already be working at Senior, Principal or Associate level. At Principal or Associate level, it would be expected that you will have some commercial planning experience and be client-focused, whereas Planners and Senior Planners may come from a local authority environment where they have gained valuable experience in DM or policy.
About the role:
Depending on the level of the candidate(s) employed, the role will vary from managing smaller projects and inputting on larger projects at Planner/Senior Planner level through to managing large projects, clients and project teams at Principal and Associate level.
Likely tasks at all levels will include site appraisals and land promotion through to written statements and representations, preparing application documents, managing the input of consultants from other in-house and external disciplines such as landscape, design, ecology, presenting at committee, organising community consultation events, negotiating with councillors and officers and representing at examination and appeal.
At a more senior level, you will be expected to be client facing and play a part in developing future work streams for the business, both through maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients and developing relationships with new clients.
There is a fantastic programme of CPD available to all staff and every opportunity for internal promotion and progression with many of their most senior directors starting their career as junior professional in the business!
- Upwards of 2 years' experience in a town planning role (DM, policy, consultancy, strategic land promoter, housing or commercial developer);
- MRTPI or working towards;
- Some experience working on residential-focused projects;
- High standards of written communication;
- Confident and persuasive public speaker, able to present at committee and negotiate with key stakeholders;
- Ambitious, self-motivated but also a genuine team player;
- some experience or interest in EIA's (valuable but not a prerequisite of the role);
- Full UK driving licence.
In return, you will be offered a competitive salary and flexible benefits package, a generous car allowance, private health care, good pension scheme, life insurance and generous bonuses paid at Christmas as well as annual leave that increases with promotion.
