Development Control Engineer - Central London
Are you an experienced Development Control Engineer professional looking to progress? We are seeking a Development Control Engineer to provide high quality specialised Highway Planning services that meet the needs of the boroughs multi-racial community, managing development control responses, assisting with policy development relating to the services provided.
Post: Development Control Engineer
Rate: Circa £25 -£28 per hour
The main duties of the role are as follows;
- Act as lead project officer on allocated large scale complex development applications and masterplans ensuring all works are undertaken in accordance with statutory requirements, the Council's policies and procedures and within deadlines and agreed targets.
- Ensure compliance with current legislation making decisions on schemes or dealing with issues as they arise, or within prescribed timescales.
- Promote the work and services of the Directorate and Section liaising with other services within the Council, external bodies and statutory authorities including the provision of information, advice guidance and assistance to residents of the Borough and businesses.
- To promote and comply with the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy in opposition and eradication of all forms of discrimination and to ensure all services are accessible to all users.
Requirements
- A significant level of knowledge of highways/transport and planning policy and law.
- Sound knowledge of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems use.
- Qualifications or experience in preparing or analysing transport statements and detailed planning applications as they affect the public highway.
- Ability to respond constructively and creatively to changing demands and priorities, and maintain quality services.
