Associate Director Transport Planner - Transport and Planning - Manchester
ALLEN & YORK have been appointed by an international engineering and project management consultancy in the transport and planning sector, to source a qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Associate Director Transport Planner. You will be working directly with and reporting to the Director Advisory group and will be capable in managing project teams and junior staff members. As part of the Transport team you will already have a passion for Transport related work and will provide strategic advice for both public and private clients.
Responsibilities & Scope of Role:
The Associate Director of Transport Planning will provide assistance with the production of technical studies within the Transport Planning function. The role demands a proactive approach in a team environment and offers substantial opportunity for career progression within the company. The Associate Director of Transport Planning will be expected to be technically competent in analysing all types of transport projects and will manage a number of projects and project teams. They will be the day to day contact for Clients and will be expected to develop and manage key accounts, as well as identify business opportunities and to develop these into new business for the AG.
They will prepare PQQs in liaison with business development Directors within the AG and they will lead the technical excellence of the team. They can expect considerable experience on a variety of interesting and challenging projects e.g. Housing and Retail Developments, Port Development, Spatial Planning, Infrastructure & Buildings, Environmental Statements and Energy (etc). You will also have responsibilities to liaise with the wider network, engineers, clients and teams involved in large development proposals. Minimum Academic Qualifications:
Essential:
- BSc/BEng/MEng/MSc in relevant subjectExtensive experience in the Transport Planning industry
- CIHT/AMCIHT
- Experience in preparing Transport Assessments/Travel Plans
- Proven technical track record and ability
- Good team player to contribute to dynamic group
- Experience of managing junior staff as part of a project team
- Commercially aware Strong analytical skillsGood communicator (written and verbal)Good negotiation skillsExcellent Client management skills
Desirable:
- MCIHT/CMILT/MICE/MTPS
