In an ever-evolving industry we’re growing fast. Currently the ninth busiest airport in the UK, and the fifth largest outside London. We are a modern airport, defined by great people who are skilled, passionate and confident, and who are committed to providing great service with a relaxed and friendly style. This blend of talents, focus and dedication makes us extraordinary.

As Planning Manager, covering a period of maternity for up to 12 months and starting in May 2019, you'll be working across a variety of projects, predominantly supporting the development, consultation and publication of Bristol Airport’s Master Plan and its 12 million passenger planning application. As Planning Manager, you will continue to develop and oversee the implementation of the planning strategy for Bristol Airport, working closely with the Planning Director and the Development Team, ensuring planning consents/permitted development consultations are achieved. In this role you will:

  • Seek planning consent by preparing and submitting planning applications and influencing local authorities, and other stakeholders, with well formulated arguments
  • Ensure compliance of existing planning conditions and Section 106 obligations, monitor progress and report to North Somerset Council and other stakeholders
  • Lead Bristol Airport’s engagement on regional and local strategic planning relating to land use planning
  • Develop and maintain positive, effective relationships with various planning stakeholders including North Somerset Council, West of England Combined Authority and other local planning authorities
  • Provide in-house planning expertise for long term master planning, development projects and strategic business planning

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who already has a generous amount of technical expertise in strategic planning and policy development on major projects, and who wants to take a lead role in one of the biggest planning application projects in the South West region.

We’d like you to be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver planning permissions in major infrastructure projects and have an awareness of the political landscape required to successfully seek consent on an application of this scale.

Does this sound like you?

Please note, Bristol Airport reserves the right to bring forward the closing date of any of its job vacancies if we receive a suitable number of quality applications from which to make a shortlist. Therefore, we recommend at you apply as soon as possible rather than wait until the published closing date.
