Associate/ Partner Planner

Introduction

Our private sector client based in the Devon area are looking for an Associate/Partner Grade Planner to join a busy and growing company on a permanent basis.



Job Description & Key Responsibilities

To act as an Associate or Partner within the Planning Department providing advice to both private and public sector clients predominately throughout the South West and Wales but also to national clients. The team provide advice to clients independently and collaboratively with the Consultants. The position is based in the Bristol Head Office in Clifton but the team also service the regional offices in Gloucester, Swindon, Cardiff, Exeter, Taunton and Truro.

Planning Consultants are involved in some of the most exciting projects in the South West working in a range of sectors including residential, commercial, mixed use regeneration, retail, energy, education, healthcare, community and leisure.



General Description of Tasks

• Promote the service to existing and new clients, and generate new business
• Be responsible for own caseload and delegate effectively to other members of the planning team
• Preparation of planning appraisals / strategy reports
• Promotion of a range of planning and Listed Building applications and securing commercially driven planning permissions
• Co-ordination of internal and sub-consultant teams ranging in scale of project
• Preparation of planning appeals and ability to act as expert witness
• Promotion of sites through representations to emerging policy

Qualifications / Experience:

• Relevant related Town Planning
• Chartered RTPI Status
• Computer skills with experience of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and CAD software
• Sound written and numeracy communication skills able to converse with developers and the public.

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary is negotiable depending on experience
• Bonus available
• Holiday - minimum of 25 days, availability to 5 days additional holiday
• Cycle to work scheme
• Pension - 5% employee contribution and 5% company contribution
• After 12 months service - death in service benefit 4x salary
• Medical cover depending on level

Working hours:

• 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch, normally 1pm - 2pm
