Harborough District is situated in rural south Leicestershire and includes a wealth of heritage and substantial prospective growth areas. Market Harborough was named in the Sunday Times (March 2018) as one of the top best 50 towns to live in the country and one of the top 10 in the East Midlands. The District has also received similar recognition.

We are developing a Strategic Growth Team in order to deliver development identified within the emerging Local Plan and beyond.  The postholder will play a leading role in the delivery of the Local Plan including the delivery of two major mixed use Strategic Development Areas. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Planning Officer who has experience in dealing with more complex and large scale applications to be a part of the pro-active and dynamic Strategic Growth Team.  If you think that person sounds like you then we want to hear from you. 

You will need to be a team player with a ‘can – do’ approach; committed to meeting challenging targets and maintaining the quality of the environment across the District.  In return, we will offer you plentiful and varied experience, dealing with some challenging, large scale and strategic planning applications and providing a critical role in the delivery of future growth.
