Associate Director of Planning
As an Associate Director; you will be working in a senior capacity within a multi-disciplined team
advising private sector clients on a variety of high-profile development schemes primarily in Central
London. You will be responsible for managing the preparation and submission of planning
applications and appeals, although a large part of your role will be focused on business development
and client management. Additionally, you will be tasked with managing and mentoring junior
colleagues as well as supporting the wider team to ensure the best and most efficient solution is
offered to the client.
In return, you will be provided with a highly competitive annual salary and a comprehensive benefits
package including various perks. As this is a fee-earning role, they also offer a discretionary
individual bonus based on your own billings so there are great financial incentives in addition to you
being an important and appreciated member of the team.
If you are confident working in a client-facing and business winning role already then this could be
the step up you are looking for. It is essential that you are commercially-minded with the ability to
win work and generate new business with both new and existing clients; it would be advantageous if
you already have private sector contacts within the industry but it is not a prerequisite. Having a
strong working knowledge of the UK planning system and experience working across a variety of
sectors in Central London is crucial, as is having worked in a consultancy. It is desirable if you are
chartered – either MRTPI or MRICS (P&D). Other requirements such as the ability to manage your
own schemes and work efficiently against deadlines while maintaining excellent communication
skills, both written and spoken, will be expected from a planner of your level. A challenging but
rewarding position if you are an ambitious and technically sound town planner.
My client is one of the top international property consultancies, offering a full service to developers
and investors worldwide. The planning team operates across the UK with clients from both public
and private property firms, as well as advising a number of local authorities. This varied workload
includes large-scale projects such as redevelopments of major city centres and the development of
housing, retail and business parks.
If the above sounds of interest and you’d like to know more, please apply here or call me (Lauren)
