Are you currently working as a Planner but looking to take that next step into a Senior Planner role in the near future? What will the role entail?

You will be involved in the preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications for residential development, having identified the most appropriate planning strategy for the site. The role will also involve submitting appeals to the Planning Inspectorate and attending Planning Hearings and Inquiries.

You will engage with our in-house Policy Team to help promote sites through both the Local and Neighbourhood Planning processes. The role will require active engagement with community groups, key stakeholders, parish councils, and planning officers to gain support for sites.

What key qualities and skills will I need for the role?

  • You must be at least 2 years MRTPI or equivalent qualified (such as RICS).
  • You must have at least 4 years post degree experience working in the planning sector, preferably with involvement in the residential sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Ability to engage with people from a range of backgrounds.
  • Results driven and self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively using own initiative, with minimal supervision but also as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 dependent on experience.
