Join an impressive business

Our client is one of the UK’s leading house-builders, committed to the highest standards of design, construction and service. As the Head of Land, you will primarily identify and assess land opportunities against company criteria and lead on planning, technical and financial appraisal of sites. Your duties will include the close coordination of information for offers to be made on sites and managing and collating information from external consultants and internal departments to ensure that offers are made on time.

The Head of Land will be responsible for overseeing the strategic land strategy for the region and be experienced in acquiring land on both an immediate and strategic basis. Ideally, you will have experience of negotiating and exercising option agreements and identify a number of large sites to be delivered on a phased basis over the medium – longer term.

The Head of Land will report directly to the Managing Director. The MD will support and develop you in the way the company operates, empowering you to run with deals, but always on hand to discuss areas for improvement. They will give you clear objectives. The Head of Land will need to learn to be adaptable and strong in your management style with a consistent approach with internal architects, engineers, surveyors and external consultants and land owners.

What is the client looking for?

The Head of Land will hold a sufficient level of land buying and management expertise with knowledge of land agents in the Suffolk area alongside some knowledge of the local planning environment. You’ll be self-motivated with the ability to lead teams, ambitious and hold a strong work ethic. Confidence and numeracy with proven negotiation skills are essential for this role.  A degree in a relevant property related subject is highly desirable.

The Head of Land will be rewarded for your commitment and hard work with recognition given for your contribution to the business. Benefits include a competitive salary and benefits package including a contributory pension, life insurance, company car / car allowance, healthcare and a generous bonus. Above all an honest, driven approach which offers the chance to work with some great people in a challenging environment
