Planning Director | Bedfordshire | Equity + Bonuses

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a town planner with upwards of 10 years’ experience to join a Bedfordshire based consultancy as a Planning Director with an equity stake in this successful and profitable company.

This is a great opportunity to join a well-known and ambitious national consultancy at a key stage in its history, and at a pivotal point in its future growth and success.

This is a leadership role, working alongside 2 existing Directors plus the Directors in 2 nearby offices, to manage a large office and support a growing team of capable Associate Directors, Seniors, Planners and Graduates.

Naturally the position will involve delivering large-scale planning schemes, taking ultimate responsibility for the projects and the work of more junior consultants. It will also involve building close client relationships, maximising the potential of existing clients across the private and public sectors and developing new business through networking and promoting the consultancy at every opportunity.

As a leader within the wider business, you will sit on the Board of Directors, sharing your expertise and helping to outline and shape the company’s visions and goals.

You will be given an equity stake in the company and earn generous bonuses as a result of your contribution to the company’s profits and its overall growth and success. The business is currently rolling out the next stage of their growth plan which includes opening another office, further adding to the number of instructions and boosting its overall success.

Projects are wide and varied in their scope, including significant developments within the residential sector, commercial planning and rural development schemes, strategic promotions and planning for the public sector.

You will be rewarded with a generous salary plus a multi-faceted bonus and equity scheme, health insurance, a good pension and many other benefits.

A full UK driving license is essential for this position.

It is expected that candidates will have gained over 10 years’ experience in a Town Planning environment, and it would be advantageous if some of this time had been spent in consultancy.

**Applications from candidates with a purely public sector background are welcome, but in order to be successful you would need to show considerable commercial understanding and a natural flair for networking and negotiation.**

Experience in managing projects and leading teams is essential, and any mentoring experience would be valuable. Experience in appeals is required and any additional background in Public Inquiries or even EiPs is a bonus.

You must be a chartered member of the RTPI or RICS (P&D).
