My client, a local authority based in Warwickshire are looking for a new individual to join as a Planning Control Assistant within their Development Management team. You will be joinin an exciting, expanding team dealing with a number of new developments taking place and a large number of incoming applications

 

You will be brought in as a Planning Control Assistant to contribute towards the provision of the Planning Control service of the Council through providing advice and assistance to members of the public and prospective applicants on planning matters.

 

Duties for the Planning Control Assistant role will be:

  • The examination and processing of planning applications related to the provision of the planning control service, as required by legislation.

  • Initiating appropriate consultations and notifications, to ensure that appropriate procedures have been pursued.

  • Negotiating with the applicant or agent to overcome any difficulties or deficiencies in the proposals, and the preparation of appropriate correspondence pertaining to such matters.

  • Determining what recommendation to make, taking into account planning policy, consultation replies, legal advice, background, site investigation, the environmental implication of the proposal, and observations received.

  • Advising and assisting the public regarding planning control procedures, fees, planning policies and the likely attitude of the Council.

 

To be successful for this Planning Control Assistant job, you will need to have at least 2 years' experience working in a Planning Control Section in a UK Local Authority.

 

The client will be looking to pay between £15-20 per hour for the successful Planning Control Assistant applicant and would be looking for candidates to start as soon as possible.
