Joint Strategic Planning Manager
£55,116 – £64,226 plus benefits (2% pay award from 1/4/19)
You are
Either a member of the RTPI or eligible for membership, you are a talented planning professional with a proven track record of strategic policy development and project delivery. Used to working with multiple agencies, elected members and the business community, you have got a strong understanding of local government, policy and strategy development. You are a collaborative leader with excellent negotiation, influencing and relationship building skills.
Your challenge
You will lead on developing a high-level, cross-authority strategy to shape the future of Leicester and Leicestershire. It will span everything from new housing and commercial developments, to questions of waste and energy. You will work closely with many stakeholders and in particular the local planning authorities and the Local Enterprise Partnership. The creation of such plans is being tackled across the country and, whilst a challenge, is achievable through developing exemplary partnership working.
Your approach
You will champion a cohesive approach aligned to the sub-regional economic growth plans. You will also consider national planning policy, the Local plans of the Councils and the economic ambitions of the LLEP. This work will involve coordinating seconded teams.
