Assistant Planner | West Midlands | Small Consultancy | Great Projects | Masters or Undergrad

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior or Graduate Planner to join an established and successful consultancy south of Birmingham in the West Midlands.

You will be working alongside senior planning staff including directors and owners of the business who can offer invaluable experience and mentoring to help support and develop your career. The planning team are involved in a variety of planning schemes and proposals, and you will gain exposure to all scales of planning projects across the region and sometimes beyond. Typical schemes include residential development sites, employment schemes and regional airports. You will offer support on large scales projects and will take ownership of small scale applications from an early stage, allowing you to learn quickly and advance faster than in most larger consultancies. 

Work streams will include:

- providing research for applications and monitoring local plans and 5 year housing supplies;

- attending site visits and assisting with appraisals;

- attending council committee and other meetings as a representative of the company;

- preparing planning statements and applications;

- dealing with matters relating to appeals

The basic remuneration for this position ranges from £20-25k depending on previous experience and they are able to offer assistance with further education at Masters level for a candidate with a relevant undergraduate degree and a strong desire to make Town Planning their career.
