2 X Planning Officer / Senior Planning Officers – Development Management
Swale Borough lies in an attractive and diverse part of Kent involving urban, rural and coastal areas. The Council is embarking on a review of its Local Plan and we are seeking skilled and talented planners and urban designer/landscape specialists to support the work on the unique range of planning challenges and opportunities posed by the many significant major developments and garden community proposals likely to come forward.
We have two vacant development management posts within our expanded team to handle the many complex and exciting major planning schemes coming forward within the Borough. Whilst we are looking for at least one senior planner with at least three years’ post qualification experience, we would also welcome applications from recently qualified planners or those with a social science degree wishing to enter the planning profession where we would be prepared to support post graduate qualification training.
Council benefits: career average pension scheme, professional fee payment, flexible working (including opportunities for home working and job share), employee benefits package and generous leave entitlement.
Swale Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
The Council considers that all post holders should be able to communicate clearly and concisely.
