Principal DM Planning Consultant

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the East Midlands with their search for a very experienced planning officer to operate within the Development Management Department, predominantly on major applications for strategic sites.

This role is initially set for a 6-month contract however it is almost certain that it will last for 12 months+.

There is flexibility with this role however you will be required to meet with developers in and around the district.

Duties will include:

• Processing major applications of around 500
• To provide professional advice regarding a range of planning matters associated with Major applications/schemes including pre-application enquiries/ planning performance agreements
• Prepare detailed committee reports and present at committee when required
• Supervising junior members of staff
• Signing of applications for more junior members of staff
