Designated as a National Park in 2005, the New Forest offers a truly outstanding environment in which to progress your planning career. With over 900 applications received each year, as one of our Planning Officers you can expect to deal with a wide range of planning applications and appeals, supported by our in-house specialists and a committed, high performing planning team. You will travel to application sites, assess the planning issues, make recommendations and on occasions attend the planning committee. There will also be opportunities to engage with the wider work of the National Park Authority.

Ideally, you will have a degree in a planning related subject and a recognised town planning qualification allowing membership to the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). We support continuing professional development through accredited training and payment of RTPI subscriptions.
