Planning Director - Bedford

Due to continuing growth, our client is seeking a talented Planning Director to join their friendly and busy team in Bedford.
The company have many high profile, long-standing clients for whom they provide bespoke advice on various sites across the country. The Planning Director will be given the opportunity to lead on projects and engage in a range of development plan / policy and development management work. Recent schemes have included bespoke listed building work, complex Green Belt developments, significant infrastructure plans and 14 storey residential blocks with a mixture of conservation issues.
The Planning Director role will include, but is not limited to, local plan representations, site promotion, appeals, EiP and public inquiry work. You will have the support of junior members of the professional planning team in completing projects as may be required alongside a high level of client contact and responsibility. Planning Directors are tasked with work commensurate to their experience and abilities and are required to lead on projects and manage their own workload as well as supporting the Senior Directors on the company’s development.
The Planning Director will be self-assured and will develop good working relationships with the firm’s current clients. You will enjoy the prospect of developing your own client base and making a real contribution to the prosperity of the organization. The Planning Director may have experience in Planning policy or development management. Some experience in preparing and presenting evidence to hearings, inquiries or examinations in public would be an advantage but is not essential.
