An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious planning professional to
strengthen our talented and dedicated Planning Policy team. You will become part of a highly motivated professional team who are committed to delivering quality place based strategy and excellent customer service.
The successful applicant will take a lead on key aspects of the borough’s planning monitoring functions, providing the statistical basis for plan preparation which will help to shape the future of the borough at local and stragegic level. With the government’s renewed focus on delivery, you will have a pivotal role in relation to the borough’s five year housing land supply and responding to the Housing Delivery Test. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be involved in a broad range of planning and regeneration projects providing the interesting and varied challenges you’ve been looking for. The borough offers a wide range of rural planning issues and neighbourhood planning is a key priority.
To be considered for this role you must have a recognised planning qualification. You will be expected to demonstrate qualities of sound professional judgment and initiative; have excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills and a desire to deliver a robust and effective local planning agenda. It is essential you have the ability to work as part of a team whilst using your own initiative to problem solve and effectively manage your workload to meet defined deadlines. You should be eligible for membership of the RTPI and have relevant experience.
