Planning Team Leader

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work as a Team Leader in a planning Development Management team.

The key purpose of this role will be to work alongside the service manager in the delivery and development of the Development Management & Control service in keeping with the Council Policy and guidelines, you will be responsible for the Major Applications Team. This will entail being responsible for sign off on all planning applications on a day to day basis.

In addition to these duties, you will take the lead in DC Committee and attend a range of internal and external meetings when required.

Additional Duties include

• Managing a small team
• Assisting with complex planning issues
• Liaise with key stakeholders such as neighbouring authorities
• Conduct member briefings
• Manage a caseload of more complex politically sensitive applications

Successful candidates will have acquired practical experience as a Principal Planner or Team Leader at a Local Authority.

In addition, you will have a broad knowledge of the town planning legislation and procedures in conjunction with good verbal communication and written skills.
