The role
Due to an increase in new work as well as retained business, two opportunities have arisen for a Senior Planner and Associate Planner to join a leading planning consultancy in Central London. They are highly successful, valued by their clients and would be a good fit for a chartered Planner that is looking to further their career by being exposed to a variety of exciting, nationwide projects or an established Senior Planner ready to make that next step up to Associate. There is a mix of strategic side promotions and the preparation of major planning applications so having experience in both would be advantageous. You will be expected to lead on your own projects and proactively work on new business to develop and grow the team. At the more senior level, you will be supported by a junior planner and have the responsibility of managing and mentoring them. At either level you will become an integral part of the company.
About you
For both roles, you will ideally already have a track record of effective communication liaising with clients and colleagues as you will be in a client-facing role from the outset. It is essential that you have ambition and a drive to succeed within the planning sector. For the senior planner role, it would be beneficial if you have experience working within a consultancy on residential and mixed-use projects, although if you have been working on major projects in a local borough that will also be considered. It would be advantageous if you are MRTPI or nearing submission for chartership in 2016 (for the senior planner role). Additionally, it is essential that you have a planning related degree and a good understanding of the UK planning system and local policies.
