Senior Planner

An extremely rare and exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planner to work for a unique organisation that is committed to the creation of healthy sustainable communities.

Their primary objective is to ensure that new developments are planned with health in mind at local, national and regional level.

This is a multi-faceted role that will require close liaision and working in partnership with Local Authorities, Central Government and Statutary Consultees in relation to reviewing large scale major and strategic planning applications for their Health Impacts.

These will include notable development such as high profile regeneration projects, masterplans, major residential mixed use to infrastructure schemes.

In addition, you'll also engage progress new health care related planning applications for hospitals to surgeries through the planning system.

Moreover you will also engage with local and central government to review emerging Local Plans with the primary objective of ensuring that health provision is adequately accounted for in the policies and SPD's.

Main Responsibilities;

• Review large scale major and strategic applications in relation to the production of Health Impact Assessments
• Review Local Plans in relation health provision and infrastructure
• Draft detailed planning reports
• Respond to queries from Local Authorities
• Attend meetings and consult on Health Infrastructure and development with the public, consultees and key stakeholders

Successful candidates will have acquired practical experience as a Town Planner and will either have a background in Development Control or Planning Policy at a UK planning authority.

In addition you'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an interest in health and development of sustainable communities.
