Do you want to work in a diverse Borough that can offer many interesting career development opportunities? We have an abundance of heritage, being Britain’s oldest recorded town, yet we are also one of the fastest growing urban areas in the UK. We also have small rural communities, coastal areas, the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and almost everything in-between. It has never been a more exciting time to work in the Planning team at Colchester Borough Council, with a new Local Plan emerging for the whole Borough including ambitious, ground breaking plans for new Garden Communities. Colchester has a great track record of delivering plans and projects, which you could be part of, working with our busy and ambitious team, in a convivial and stimulating environment with a mix of disciplines keeping the work varied and interesting. If that sounds enticing to you, we are looking for enthusiastic planners with the right customer focus and positive attitude, aptitude and work values. Applicants with a range of experience will be considered for our team, but we do require that you have as a minimum a graduate or post-graduate level planning qualification that is accredited by the RTPI; or, provided you can demonstrate exceptional qualities, proven relevant experience from a directly transferable profession and be willing to undertake an appropriate qualification. The post(s) will be suitable for those looking for full or part-time work.
