Bath and North East Somerset is a large and diverse area containing not only the internationally renowned City of Bath which is a World Heritage Site, but also an extensive area of Green Belt, two AONBs, numerous Conservation Areas and an abundance of listed buildings and other heritage assets.  All this makes the District a hugely attractive place to work, live and visit.

We are looking to appoint a qualified Senior Planning Officer within our Development Management Team until end of December 2019 to cover maternity.  To help us meet the challenges of exciting levels of growth planned, at the same time as protecting our unique built and natural environment, we are looking for someone who can effectively deal with a wide variety of complex planning applications throughout the District.  Most applications are determined by 'delegated' authority but it is likely the more complex applications will be presented to the Council's Development Control Committee.

This post would suit someone who is confident in dealing with all stakeholders associated with these types of planning applications and presenting planning applications to Committee.  An ability to deal with planning appeals will also be necessary.

For the right person we offer a competitive salary, flexitime and the opportunity to work with like-minded people based in Bath, one of the most attractive City's in the country.
