My client, a local authority based in West Yorkshire are looking for a Planning Compliance Officer within their Enforcement team. You will be brought in to be responsible for investigating alleged breaches of planning control and managing and progressing a caseload of planning compliance cases.
You will be joining as a Planning Compliance Officer in a growing team who are looking to expand their staffing levels by adding new members of staff to handle a high backlog of cases in a busy service.
Duties for the Planning Compliance Officer role will be:
- Investigate alleged breaches of planning control, negotiate solutions and make recommendations for the outcomes and determination of cases
- Effectively project manage and progress a compliance caseload to ensure planning breaches are resolved
- Prepare and serve enforcement and legal notices, and prepare and give evidence in prosecution cases and in planning appeals
- Monitor planning permissions and legal agreements on key development sites and take action, as appropriate, to secure compliance
- Maintain effective and timely communications with service users and deliver a high level of customer care, ensuring that stakeholders, Elected Members, MPs, and customers are appropriately informed on planning compliance matters
- Liaise closely with colleagues including in other services and directorates to secure the delivery of satisfactory services to Members, citizens and developers
- Liaise and work jointly with other Authorities, public bodies and private organisations
To be successful for the Planning Compliance Officer job, you will have previous experience working as an enforcement officer and demonstrate the ability to handle a high or complex caseload.
The client will be looking to pay between £20-25 per hour for the successful Planning Compliance Officer applicant and would be looking for the candidate to start as soon as possible.
