Do you work for a market leader? No? Do you want to?

Then this is your chance!

This is the chance you have been waiting for to work on some of the UK's most high profile Transport Planning and infrastructure projects which are at the forefront of the Transport Planning industry and work with the likes of the Department of Transport, Transport for London, Highways England as well as a host of local authorities and London boroughs within England, as well as work on several key Frameworks.

As Principal Transport Planner, you will be joining a growing Development Planning team working from the Aldgate, London office. The Development Planning and Engineering Team provide transport services throughout the development lifecycle from site feasibility and due diligence through to planning applications, implementation and monitoring.

You will hold a Master's degree or PhD in Transport Planning, or related subject/social based discipline, and hold membership of a chartered professional institution such as CIHT, TPS, CILT or ICE, or be working towards membership and aspire to be the consultant of choice for authorities and developers wishing to realise their vision for the built environment.

The experience you have gained throughout your career will demonstrate your strong analytical and communication skills, along with a creative and enthusiastic approach to problem solving. Drawing on your analytical background in mathematics, economics, geography, or engineering in conjunction with at least 5 or more years' experience in transport planning and a good knowledge of wider transport planning issues, you will undertake the initial site identification and due diligence, prepare feasibility studies and support the development of masterplans, then you will prepare supporting transport documents for planning applications and post planning negotiation with local authority bodies and work to discharge conditions and prepare highway designs for implementation.

Project management, working with and coordinating with other business departments on various multi-disciplinary projects while supervising the workload and providing support to junior project managers, will be second nature to you. This will all be while you are developing technical and financial proposals on new projects as well as providing specific technical leadership in your area of expertise, while keeping clients happy and engaged in the process start to end.

Your understanding and experience in transport demand and supply modelling, forecasting, and experience you have gained in appraisal and evaluation of transport proposals, will compliment your knowledge of transport modelling related software packages e.g. SATURN, PARAMICS, CUBE, EMME, VISUM, VISSIM, TUBA as well as your understanding and experience of GIS software. Any experience in computer programming languages (e.g. VBA, SQL, Python) would be an advantage to you in this role.

Previous experience of project budgetary issues and the capability to deliver work to time and budget requirements, as well as the ability to communicate technical concepts and provide a level of supervision to more junior staff will shine through from your vast background in the Transport Planning sector.

As Principal Transport Planner you will be required to be flexible to travel to other offices within the business, depending on project requirements.

In return you will receive a competitive salary, you'll also have the opportunity to explore flexible working arrangements as the client really does value a healthy work life balance.

Other core benefits include 25 days' annual leave, company pension scheme, private medical insurance, life assurance and one paid annual professional institution membership fee. You can also choose from a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle.

You'll also be able to give back to communities with up to two paid CSR days each year. Through their charity, you can volunteer to support children in developing countries. And if you're a member of the Reserve Forces you'll receive an additional 15 days paid leave for training commitments.
