As Principal Town Planner, you will draw on your experience as a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or an equivalent professional town planning organisation for at least 5 years, to take a lead role in the development of the Environment and Planning division, including generating opportunities and winning new business.

The Environment and Planning team has a successful track record of delivering a variety of projects alongside the engineering and environmental colleagues throughout the UK, it is expected you will drive and develop this celebrative approach to working utilising your management experience and your proven track record in the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects, including leadership of major development projects through the development consenting process.

Drawing on your extensive knowledge of consenting infrastructure projects, preferably within the private sector, working on a range of prestigious infrastructure projects for clients in the rail, road, power, water and waste management development sectors, as well as a range of regional / local developments will be second nature to you.

Project management, working with and coordinating with other business departments on various multi-disciplinary projects while supervising the workload and providing support to junior project managers, will be a standard part of your day. This will all be while you are developing technical and financial proposals on new projects as well as providing specific technical leadership in your area of expertise, while keeping clients happy and engaged in the process start to end.

Your understanding and Sound knowledge of UK Planning policy and legislation and a working knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment legislation, will compliment your knowledge of The Development Consent Order regime under the Planning Act 2008 and The Transport and Works Act 1992 consenting regime.

As Principal Town Planner, you will be required to be flexible to travel to other offices within the business, depending on project requirements.
