The Jobs:
37 hours per week, 2 year Fixed Term Contract
The Authorities are seeking three Development Monitoring Officers, two at Cherwell District Council (Bodicote House) and one at South Northamptonshire District Council (The Forum).
Both authorities pro-actively monitor the built development and enforce against breaches of planning control. For the development monitoring roles no experience is required and the role involves monitoring development that has been granted planning permission ensuring that it is built to an acceptable standard, negotiating with developers and taking enforcement action where appropriate.
The Person:
You will need to be pro-active and organised with strong communication skills being able to liaise appropriately with a range of stake holders. Knowledge of the planning system is vital as are good pro-active communication and negotiation skills. The role will require the post holder to undertake site visits, draft formal planning related notices and write detailed reports and undertake planning related appeals.
