Senior Planner

My client is a niche-planning consultancy based in Reading with easy access to the M4.

This vacancy has arisen for someone to start in March/ April 2019 due to the retirement of a longstanding member of staff.

The position represents an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced Development Management MRTPI Planner, with either Local Authority and /or private consultancy / developer background with ideally at least 10 years' experience.

The position involves working on a number of challenging, complicated but interesting development projects throughout the South East on behalf of developer and property company clients.

Tasks include:

• Site appraisals
• Planning research
• Pre-application submissions
• Preparation of Planning Statements
• Reviewing and commenting on other supporting technical application reports
• Coordinating planning application submissions
• Finalising planning applications
• Submitting applications via the Planning Portal
• Attending client/ team meetings
• Attending Planning Officer meetings
• Monitoring application consultations and proactively responding to issues arising
• Taking initiatives to resolve / highlight issues
• Research, preparation and lodging of complete appeal cases (Written Representations, Hearing Statements and Proofs of Evidence)
• Attendance at Planning Conferences with Counsel
• Projects are primarily "Major" residential schemes of varying scales and complexity throughout South East England

The position comes with a total package of circa £48,000 to £55,000 depending on experience; the package includes bonuses and a car allowance. In addition, you will also receive:

Although my client is looking for someone to start in March / April 2019, they are looking to conduct interviews across December 2018 and January 2019.
