Job Title: Associate Town Planner

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £65-£80k  (negotiable dependant on experience) + excellent benefits

Are you a MRTPI qualified Planner with a proven background in infrastructure? Would you like to work for a company where you can choose your own benefits package? I am looking to hire an Associate Planner within an international business across a variety of discipline -  with a world renowned designer & engineer behind some of the world’s most ambitious structures.  Working out of their established midlands office they take on a variety of high quality projects such as:

  • Large scale refurbishments including elements of masterplanning
  • Major public sector regeneration schemes
  • Infrastructure projects with national clients

This role is part of a key part of the business-  a talented planning team of professionals that advise on some of the companies and continue to develop collaborations with some of the country’s leading thinkers. They are at the forefront of development issues that will shape the UK’s larges cities in regards to estate regeneration, transport planning, aviation policy and regional growth plans.

They are a global consultancy who specialise in building resilient cities worldwide and are involved in every aspect of today’s built environment. The Role

We are looking for an Associate Town Planner with experience in delivering consents for major schemes and to grow the planning division. Through your work in this role, you will:

         Lead planning projects (consents, policy work, research) for a variety of clients;

         Work in teams and manage staff – as both a specialist within a multi-disciplinary team, but also with the abilities to lead teams of different specialists;

         Present to clients and work with them on a day to day basis;

         Liaise and negotiate with planning officers;

         Develop relationships internally with our other practices/teams;

         Win new business, including preparing bids for new work;

         Write reports and give presentations;

         Integrate into project delivery teams within the wider business and with external consultants / collaborators;

This is an opportunity to:

         Support the development and growth of our Planning business in the Midlands;

         Develop and promote best practice within the team;

         Provide management and leadership support to junior members of the team;

         Identify new work opportunities for the team.

Although they offer a range of services, planning remains at the forefront of their success and these new roles are a unique opportunity for a person within a planning discipline to gain exposure to some of the cities most exciting projects, based out of their leading Birmingham office.
