Minerals & Waste Specialist

This Local Authority require a Minerals & Waste Planning Officer for an initial 3 month contract.

You will have experience supporting the Development Management Team in respect of minerals and waste development  .

Main Duties

-To support the Development Control Team Leader in the presentation of Reports to the County Council’s Planning and Regulatory Functions Committee and formal Site Visits

--To process planning applications and similar submissions in respect of proposals for minerals and waste developments as well as the County Council’s own development proposals (depending upon the Postholder’s position within the career-grade)

-To exercise professional judgement in the determination of major planning applications and the presentation of recommendations to the Planning and Regulatory Functions Committee (depending upon the Postholder’s position within the career-grade)

-Assess land use and environmental factors in relation to planning applications, on-going site operations and final restoration and/or after-care schemes (depending upon the Postholder’s position within the career-grade)

-Contribute to the work involved in site monitoring in respect of the permitted minerals and waste sites in the county  

This role is inside IR35 with pay rate negotiable depending on experience.

You will hold a Full UK driving license, for site visits with mileage paid at £0.45/mile.
