Planning Officer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Planning Officer in busy area team at one of London's most vibrant Borough Councils.

This role offers you the chance to work on a diverse caseload of minor to medium planning applications for a variety of uses encompassing residential, commercial, householder,change of use, mixed use and certificates of lawful development.

However, this London borough has stressed there will be opportunities to progress on to a more challenging casework that may include complex medium and small-scale major applications. 

Duties include:

• Managing a caseload of minor to medium applications
• Providing pre-application advice and guidance to applicants and agents with the submission of planning applications
• Attend site visits
• Maintain electronic application files by scanning and indexing plans as well as correspondence
• Duty Planning
• Drafting detailed committee reports

Successful candidates will have a degree in Town & Country planning or an affiliated subject with practical experience as a Development Control Officer in the UK.
