Senior Planner | Planning Consultancy
Bristol
£30,000 to £40,000 + benefits
Our client is a successful Town Planning consultancy, based in Bristol. The company has gone from strength to strength and now hold an enviable client base, having worked on a number of renowned planning schemes in the area. The firm provides sound independent commercial advice to assist with the delivery of development projects across the South West area.
The Senior Planner will work on a broad an interesting project base. You will have previous experience within a consultancy alongside a working knowledge of the planning application process. The Senior Planner will be joining a team of 6 Planners where they will be working on a variety of both major and minor schemes. The Senior Planner's work will involve;
- Preparation of Design & Access and Planning Statements
- Coordination and negotiation of planning submissions which for larger complex schemes will often involve an Environmental Statement (ES) requiring the coordination of input from ecological; tree; flood risk noise and highway consultants etc
- The prosecution of planning appeals including hearings and inquiries
- Viability appraisals and Section 106 negotiations including finalising the level of affordable housing provision
- Carrying out of Public Exhibitions and community engagement at the pre-application stage
- Applications for a certificate of lawful use
- Enforcement issues
- Instruction of planning barristers
- Option negotiations with landowners
To apply for the Senior Planner role, you will hold a minimum of 3 years planning experience - preferably in the private sector. You will be working at Senior Planner level although my client is open to applications from Town Planners who are looking to progress to this title. The Senior Planner will be MRTPI or in the process of gaining this membership shortly.
