JOB DESCRIPTION

Hays Construction & Property are excited to be working in partnership with Corby Borough Council who are looking to recruit a Senior Planning Officer (Development Control) to join their team. Corby Borough Council is a success story and one of the fastest growing places in the UK, their Corporate Vision is to double their population to around 100,000 by 2030 and they are the Academy of Urbanism's 2018 Great British Town. Corby is situated in the heart of England with excellent road links via the A14 to the M1, M6 and A1 and a direct passenger rail service to London.

This is an exciting time for a Senior Planning Officer to be a part of the future of Corby as they grow the Borough and be a part of the Development Management Team. As well as large residential developments they have a number of significant employment and town centre schemes as well as infrastructure delivery projects.

As a Senior Planning Officer in the Regeneration and Growth Service you will be experienced in managing complex Section 106 agreements associated with these forms of development. Alongside EIA processes, you will have experience in project management as lead officer in a multi-disciplinary environment, as well as presenting to Members and the Council's Management Team.

You will have a Town Planning qualification or equivalent and a relevant professional qualification RTPI/RICS. You will be an experienced planner with a track record in development management for the delivery of commercial, town centre and regeneration schemes. You will have expertise in dealing with significant major projects/applications at a Local Authority including Environmental Impact Assessments. The successful applicant will need to work effectively with key stakeholders at all levels so you will need to have a positive and helpful attitude which is essential. You will be able to attend meetings or occasionally work outside of office hours and hold a full UK driving licence.
