Development Management Manager     
(This post is FTC for maternity cover – 1 year)

Key Duties:

  • Manage a Development Management Team covering distinct professional sub teams of Senior Planning Officers, Planning Officers, Senior Enforcement Officers and Enforcement Officers;
  • Focus on development proposals that will have a significant impact on the future growth and development of Milton Keynes, to ensure the best use of department, team and staff resources;
  • To support the Chief Planner in the delivery of the service and deputise at meetings when necessary and to engage with other managers within the organisation to ensure that an effective and efficient service can be delivered;
  • To co-ordinate, represent and manage the agendas and presentation of cases to the Development Control Committee/Panels and other working groups, forums or external meetings as appropriate; 
  • Manage the workload, budgets, development and performance of the Development Management Team and be part of the Management Team for the Planning Service;
  • To project manage work to support the ongoing development and improvements in efficiency of the service.
