For this role: You will be mainly office based but will have an essential car users allowance to enable site visits around the district. You will be working within the Development Management team which comprises planning officers, specialist heritage and design officers and planning support staff.

What you'll be doing: You will have a challenging workload of major and other applications and deal with all stages of the development management process giving pre-application advice, making site visits, writing reports, making recommendations, signing decisions, discharging conditions and representing the council in appeals and at committee. You will give guidance and support to the Planning Officers.

Who we're looking for: We are seeking motivated staff with excellent communication and customer service skills. You will need to work well under pressure on your own cases and as part of a team.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a relevant planning degree/diploma and RTPI membership.
Required is the ability to travel, including travel to remote areas of Teignbridge according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments if required, according to the Equality Act.
