This Local Authority based in the South East are looking for a Housing Enabling Manager to lead on the production of the Council's Housing Strategy and Local Plan policies concerning affordable housing.


Responsibilities

Your main duties will be:
  • Developing relevant plans and key strategies in conjunction with the Director of Community Services
  • Contributing to the development of LDP policies on infrastructure, environment and housing whilst also inputting into the implementation of existing policies - Town Centre Area Action Plan and Affordable Housing SPD.
  • Representing the Council at multi-agency meetings on strategic and operational working groups as required
  • Providing guidance on the application of affordable housing planning policies on development proposals whilst providing advice to developers
  • Advising parish councils on affordable housing in relation to neighbourhood plans




Candidate Experience

As the successful candidate, you will:
  • Be educated to degree level in planning or a related subject - Essential
  • Hold Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute, Institute of Housing or the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors - Desired, not essential
  • Substantial experience working within of of the following sectors: social housing, Planning & Regeneration or private sector house building - Essential
  • Understanding of the legal and financial framework of affordable housing development - Essential



Working Arrangements
  • Pay rates likely to be between £40-50 per hour (Negotiable upon experience)
  • IR35 - potentially outside
  • Notices will be considered - shorter notices will be favoured
  • Flexible working is available - to be discussed on a case by case basis
