We are looking to recruit a positive and energetic individual within our planning enforcement team. Lambeth has one of London’s most diverse populations stretching from Streatham to South Bank, with vibrant town centres interspersed between residential areas, many within conservation areas, creating a dynamic and challenging workload. The successful candidate will take a key role within the team - dedicated to safeguarding the amenity of people who live and work in the Borough.
Lambeth is a vibrant borough located in the heart of London. Its favourable position attracts iconic projects by international developers and world class architects such as the redevelopment of Shell Centre in Waterloo. The borough is unique in its variety of locations stretching from Waterloo and Vauxhall in the north, with a distinctive range of prominent riverside development opportunities, with lively and diverse town centres such as Brixton and Clapham, through to Streatham and Norwood in the south.
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge and experience of the planning enforcement regime and will mentor a junior officer within the team. Experience of dealing with the full range of enforcement matters is essential including taking formal action, dealing with all types of appeal and giving evidence in court. You will have experience of managing and communicating with all stakeholders and following investigations through to successful conclusions. You will be expected to work on your own initiative and contribute to pro-active work projects and streamlining processes where required.
