Town Planning

Would you like to shape places, playing a key role in multi-disciplinary teams? Would you like to join a young, dynamic planning team in their state-of-the-art London office? My clients' London-based planning team work on some of the largest, most complex and high profile development and regeneration projects in the UK for both public and private sector clients.

They're looking to recruit a Planner with some experience in development management. As a Planner, you will play a role in supporting Project Managers and Directors on a range of projects.

You will be based in their flagship London office working on a multi-disciplinary floor alongside urban designers, landscape architects and sustainability experts. Their stylish offices offer a flexible and modern approach to working collaboratively amongst the team.

Main duties would include:
  • Work collaboratively within a team of planners, urban designers, landscape architects and engineers and others to complete land development, master planning, and strategic development planning projects.
  • Play a supporting role in the preparation of planning applications, often for large-scale residential and mixed-use schemes.
  • Draft Planning Statements and other application material as required, with the support of senior members of the team.
  • Play a supporting role in the preparation of proposals and qualification documents to secure new commissions.
  • Provide effective representation for the organisation, through positive relationships with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders through project work and attendance at conferences and other networking events.
  • Participate in the successful operation of the town planning team, including playing a role in sharing technical knowledge and excellence.

The following skills and experience are required

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Post-graduate experience, preferably within the private sector
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Examples of projects and clients you'll be working on include

  • Rolls Royce
  • CAMKOX Corridor
  • Cambridge University
  • Old Oak Common

Having a healthy work-life balance is very important to my client. As well as receiving a competitive salary, you'll also have the opportunity to explore flexible working arrangements. Core benefits include 25 days' annual leave, company pension scheme, private medical insurance, life assurance and bonuses too. You can also choose from a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle. They have an active Sports and Social Group with a wide range of regularly organised events from gin tasting, to bowling, outdoor cinema viewings and kayaking. You'll also be able to give back to communities with up to two paid Corporate Social Responsibility days each year.
