Overview
Are you a Assistant / Town Planner based in the North West looking to take a step forward in your career by joining an established Town Planning Consultancy in Preston?
Penguin are pleased to be working with a well respected consultancy who are looking to recruit a Town Planner with 2 to 4 years experience to work on a wide range of exciting projects across a variety of sectors.
The company have recently celebrated 30 years in business and work with a range of clients from major development and regeneration companies to individual members of the public. This role has arisen due to an increase workload and expanding clientbase.
The company offer a comprehensive range of services such including planning applications, development plan representations, enforcement, planning/development advice, specialist reports and appeals.
Currently our client is involved in a significant amount of residential-led developments however also work across a number of sectors including retail / commercial, leisure, industrial, energy & waste, education / care, equestrian and agriculture. These projects typically fall in the North West of England however the company have relationships throughout the UK.

Key Duties
-Prepare, submit and manage planning applications
-Provide advicce and assistance with appeals
-Undertaking planning research
-Compiling coherent and high quality reports
-Promote land for development
-Advise on enforcement action
-Planning/development advice
-Assisting the team in their development planning projects
Job requirements
-RTPI accredited degree in Town and Country Planning or an associated qualification
-MRTPI or working towards it
-2+ years planning experience (Public or Private sector)
-Be able to demonstrate a broad range of core planning skills
-Work well independently as well as within a team
-Strong report writing skills
-Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
