Senior Planning Enforcement Consultant / Officer – Local Authority

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the Surrey / Sussex Area with their search for an experienced Planning Enforcement Professional to join their Planning Department on a 3-month contract with the potential to extend.

The Authority requires an experienced Officer to hit the ground running on a variety of Planning Enforcement cases, some historical and some new. These applications will be a mixed and will require progressing and resolving.

The local authority if made up of both urban and rural areas, containing green belt & conservation areas.

You will be required to carry out site visits, liaising with members of the public, owners and occupiers of the land and applying your own investigative skills. You will be efficiently and successfully preparing and presenting evidence for written representation appeals, informal hearings, public enquiries and court hearings. You will need a vehicle and a driving licence for this role.

You will need to be a confident communicator, who can work with a broad range of customers and Planning professionals to interpret legislation and resolve disputes and complaints in a timely manner.

Up to £40 p/h dependant on experience.
