Planning Officer - North London Borough - Immediate Start- £20ph to £25ph

Our client, a local authority based in north London, has had a recent spike in planning applications which has resulted in an increase in workload. This diverse and vibrant borough is one of the more popular local authorities to work for in London and prides itself on exceeding targets and providing excellent customer service. In order to continue this success our client is looking to take on a town planner, specialising in development management, on a temporary basis. This role is initially for three months with the opportunity to extend the contract or progress to a full time role

Your new role
As a successful candidate, you will be required to:

• Process a wide range of planning applications including residential developments, changes of use, applications for listed building consent and appeals.
• Provide information, guidance and advice as required to applicants, developers and their agents, members of the public, local organisations, other Council departments and others on planning matters.

• Keep abreast of planning legislation.

What you'll need to succeed
Your skill set will include: - An education to degree level of an RTPI accredited programme. - Experience in development management, dealing with planning applications preferably within a London local authority. - Excellent customer service skills, the ability to meet deadlines and the ability to work individually and in a diverse team.
