Principal Town Planner – Milton Keynes
£40,000 - £45,000 + custom benefits package

We’re looking for a Principal Town Planner to work in our client’s Milton Keynes office, preferably from a consultancy background with some local authority experience. Knowledge and experience of working in residential, commercial, mixed use, education and retail sectors is a key part of this flexible role. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and you will have attained Chartered status.
Commercially minded, you will demonstrate enthusiasm, energy and the ability to work under your own initiative, to meet our client’s expectations, and help expand our business. The Principal Town Planner will be busy, challenged and well rewarded.
Your Role
The Principal Town Planner will be involved in a variety of projects for a range of public and private sector clients providing advice from initial feasibility studies, to strategic advice and Development Plan promotions, to detailed planning applications and appeals. You will have the opportunity to lead your own projects and develop your own client base, as well as to work within multidisciplinary teams on larger proposals.
About You
The Principal Town Planner will demonstrate a high level of planning knowledge and the ability to undertake a variety of projects across a diverse range of sectors, as well as excellent problem solving, communication, negotiation and writing skills. You will be commercially aware, able to identify and respond appropriately to new business opportunities and foster strong relationships both internally and externally. As a Principal Town Planner you will also ideally have management experience, currently or previously acting as a Senior Consultant, Principal or Team Leader.
