About the role

You'll be responsible for assessing major development proposals and preparing technical statutory highway consultation responses on planning applications in Buckinghamshire. You'll work with developers, consultants, district councils and government agencies providing strategic highway and transportation advice relating to planned development across the County. You'll be required to represent the Council at planning committee and public meetings often dealing with complex and contentious issues.



About you

You'll have worked in the transport industry before, either in the private or public sector, and will need to demonstrate extensive knowledge of planning and highway legislation, regulations and guidance. You'll have the ability to plan and deliver work efficiently and make decisions to optimise result and be able to adapt readily to change and work effectively in a variety of situations, either in groups, with individuals or in partnership with other organisations. You will possess highly developed analytical, negotiation, communication, presentation, and organisational skills and be able to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, you will also ideally be a member of a relevant professional organisation.



Other information

Where our roles are customer-facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the role.
