Well connected?

Peterborough 20 mins

Lincoln 60 mins

London Kings Cross 80 mins via the mainline at Peterborough

…and a recently regenerated Skegness less than an hour away for long hot summer days.

What is like to live here?

Spalding is one of the largest towns in Lincolnshire and is a gateway to the East of England, North Cambridgeshire and North Norfolk. Residing here gives you access to great restaurants, bars and country pubs whilst there are numerous parks, stately homes and pleasant walks. For families there are soft plays, a dry ski slope, entertainment facilities and lidos nearby.

For nature enthusiasts the area nears large Nature Reserves and an AONB.

Live for Less?

For comfortably less than £200k you can get a 3 bedroom detached house with period features. In town, the river Welland masquerades as a canal, its banks bordered by grand, lofty, 18th-century townhouses that might have come straight out of a Rembrandt. Your money will go further here and with a generous salary on offer you will be able to upcycle your living conditions without breaking the bank.

Schools

Spalding High School is rated as outstanding alongside other Ofsted graded ‘outstanding’ primary schools for the little ones. There is also a first-class Grammar School in the town.

Who should apply?

Potential candidates will be qualified in planning or a related discipline which is recognised by the Royal Town Planning Institute, have a sound working knowledge of local government, and have knowledge of the Local Plan process and competent IT skills. The team is located in South Holland District Council’s offices but the successful candidates will need to work closely with Boston colleagues as and when appropriate, including relevant travel.

If you are looking for your next challenge, have a commitment to delivering outstanding services and are ready to take your next step at a forward-looking authority then we want to hear from you.
