Planning Enforcement Consultant - Oxfordshire OUTSIDE IR35

A North Oxfordshire Local Authority is seeking a Senior Planning Enforcement Consultant.

The Council is based in a rural area with some small Towns and villages and picturesque countryside. They are looking for a Consultant who can hit the ground running with a mixture of old and new cases.

Your duties will include:

• Dealing with complex Enforcement cases, and monitoring the progress of these cases, following the issue of formal notices or action.
• Mentoring junior members of staff
• Carrying out site visits and surveying site developments and investigating cases of alleged unauthorised development reported to the Council.
• Liaising with members of the public, owners and occupiers of the land and applying your own investigative skills.
• Drafting Enforcement and all other Planning Enforcement related Notices.
• Preparing written evidence in connection with Planning Enforcement appeals and related matters and presenting evidence at written representation appeals, informal hearings, public enquiries and court hearings.
• Monitoring the progress on the implementation of Section 106 Agreements and undertakings.
  

You will be working collaboratively as part of the Planning team so it would be extremely beneficial, but not essential, if you were a qualified Planner. You will need to be a confident communicator and negotiator, who can interpret legislation, and resolve disputes and complaints in a timely manner.

The rate for this position is negotiable and dependent upon past experience in Planning and Enforcement. The contract is for an initial 6 months but is likely to extend and the Council encourage flexible/home working. This role is Outside IR35.
