SENIOR PLANNING OFFICER

 

£28,221 – £32,233

 

(an additional market supplement of £1,806 is currently available)

We are looking for an experienced and qualified planner who will help support the delivery of a high quality, effective, efficient and customer focussed service in a systems thinking manner. The role will involve managing a case load of complex and contentious applications, including major applications and enforcement related cases.  You will be based in Rugby Town Centre in Warwickshire within a Borough of over 100,000 population which is expected to grow by 30% by 2035. 

The successful applicant will provide professional advice on a range of planning matters to customers, Members of the Council and other stakeholders as necessary. They will be expected to support and guide planning officers within the Team, negotiate with applicants and agents to achieve high quality outcomes, to prepare appeals and provide expert evidence at Hearings and Inquiries in respect of planning and enforcement matters as necessary.

You will need to have a relevant degree, professional qualification or appropriate experience, a sound knowledge of current planning legislation, relevant experience in development management as well as possess excellent communication and advisory skills. A driving licence and access to a car for business use is essential.
