Planning Officer

A brilliant opportunity has arisen for an experienced Development Control Planner to cement themselves in a fast-growing council in Bedfordshire.

This Local authority is seeking a Planning Officer to join their development management team to work on a broad caseload on Minor to Medium applications comprising of residential, household and change of use etc.

In addition, the client has stressed there will be scope for you to progress and work on some small-scale majors should they feel you are ready.

Duties will include:

• Providing pre-application advice and guidance to applicants and agents with the submission of planning applications
• Attend site visits
• Managing a caseload of minor household applications. 
• Representing the council at committee when required
• Maintain electronic application files by scanning and indexing plans as well as correspondence

Successful candidates will have a degree in Town & Country planning or an affiliated subject with practical experience as a Development Control Officer in the UK.
