Senior Town Planner or above | Architectural Practice | Hampshire

Job Details

Do you have a burning desire to work for a specialist, award-winning architecture and design practice?

Does your interest lie in delivering planning strategies for innovative design-led projects of high quality and often local and national significance?

The existing team of 10 Town Planners and Masterplanners are looking to further boost numbers with the appointment of a Chartered Town Planner to take the reins with their projects and clients in the south central region, focusing around Hampshire and the surrounding areas south of London. The role will be based in their Winchester office, working alongside the wider team in the South West and Wales but also sitting alongside a team of architects and other disciplines in Winchester.

You must be ambitious with the desire to manage your own workload and grow a small team, but in the first instance you must be capable of working autonomously with wider support from the remote teams. Therefore, experience in writing proposals and ideally preparing tenders, carrying out appraisals and pre-application paperwork, delivering successful planning applications, managing the work of internal and external consultants, and engaging with stakeholders through professional and public consultation are all essential skills required of the successful candidate.

Typical work streams focus around leisure and tourism developments, urban extensions and masterplanning new settlements, healthcare and public institutions as well as projects across the education sector.

Your key responsibility will be to manage and deliver on existing client relationships but there is every opportunity to build on this with your own business development or even existing client base. Your skills will also be utilised to build collaborations with other disciplines in-house and you will likely become a key member of this multi-functioning and highly effective team.

On offer is an ever-competitive salary structure, flexible benefits and profit sharing. Professional development is considered to be of the upmost importance and therefore both internal mentoring and external coaching are offered as part of a structured CPD plan. It is also a fun and engaging place to work where exceptional efforts are made to ensure your well-being is tended to and you are valued as both a professional and a person.
