Planning Enforcement Officer

About the role

You will be responsible for investigating and resolving alleged breaches of control under Planning and Listed Building legislation. Additionally, you will ensure that development is carried out in accordance with approved plans and that conditions imposed on planning permissions are complied with in order to secure compliance with the decisions of the planning authority.

This could involve a wide range of investigations including: residential breaches, breaches of conditions, S215's, rural breaches, adverts, mixed use developments and unauthorised development of listed buildings etc. The role may involve drafting and serving enforcement notices however we have very few prosecutions and this would be done with their Legal team.

The Successful Candidate

You will ideally have a relevant degree in the built environment (planning, geography, architecture, conservation etc.) or equivalent experience within Planning Enforcement and Development Control.

You will need to be a confident communicator, with an outgoing personality who enjoys working with a broad range of customers and planning professionals to interpret legislation, and resolve disputes and complaints in a timely manner.
